I am thrilled to write to you today as the Chair of the Terrace Council. As a member of the Class of 1990, I have been actively involved with Union as a volunteer for many years, assisting as an alumni admissions volunteer and most recently with my class ReUnion and giving efforts. Union College holds a very special place in my heart, as I am sure it does for you. Thinking of Union brings to mind wonderful memories of some of my best friends and wonderful academic and co-curricular experiences that influence who I am today. Whether it was, hanging out in Richmond House, studying abroad in Greece or cheering on the Dutchmen at Bailey Field, my memories are lasting, special and I consider myself fortunate to be a member of the Union family. Because of the role that Union has played in shaping my life, each year, along with my volunteer work for the College, I make a point to support Union financially as a member of the Terrace Council, Union’s Leadership Giving Society.
The Terrace Council is a group of the College’s most dedicated and generous alumni, parents, and friends -- providing more than 68 percent of total giving to Union and inspiring others to deepen their philanthropy at all levels. I would like to invite you to join the Terrace Council with a leadership gift of $2,000 or more. In addition to the significance of giving back, Terrace Council members take advantage of special opportunities to engage with the College throughout the year, including events and receptions with other Terrace Council members. I believe that there are few places as beautiful as Union in the fall and I love returning to campus with my family because I get to see first-hand many of the instances of our gifts at work. Please consider joining the Terrace Council and know that your gift will play a vital role in the College’s growth and continued influence on the region, the nation, and the world. Our College is doing very well and I know that leadership and support play a big role in its success. I look forward to you joining my fellow Terrace Council members and I in continuing the legacy of our beloved alma mater ….Union College!
